Two years ago when we moved to Germany I noticed I had more free time then before. This was the first time Laura was in all day school, and while I was open to getting a job, it seems that so are almost all the other wives on base. I submitted resume for a few opening and decided that I also needed a hobby therefore I taught my self how to crochet. I jumped in feet first soon yarn was stashed everywhere in my house. First I made gifts for everyone, birthday gifts, Christmas gifts even Easter gifts.

This hobby quickly spun completely out of control, I discovered hats.....
This weekend I took over 100 hats to the craft bazaar on base, I returned home with only 25!

About 4 months ago I really went overboard and started making things without a pattern the result, no one who knows me should be surprised by what I made, sold at the craft fair for $25.

Harry Potter
(I swear he looks better in person) |
And so much more I wish I had taken pictures of!
That is so awesome! Way to go! I still find it ironic that we all somehow ended up learning to crochet at the same time. Wish you were here and we could do craft fairs together! Totally impressed by your awesome toys!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lacey, I enjoying making this more then I enjoying selling them. Mostly because I do not feel confident they are nice enough to sell. (I swear things look at least a little better in person). It would be a lot of fun to have someone to do a craft fair with. I am sure we can compare and talk about crocheting in person when we move back this summer ;). It will be nice to walk around the craft store and actually see and touch things in person and not have to wait a month to get them in the mail!
